Books:

The Three Treasures, Tina C. Zhang.  This book promotes Qigong for health. Tina also focuses on health practices specific to women’s energy.

Staying Healthy with the Seasons, by Elson M. Haas, M.D. blends East and West  into day-to-day living.
A pretty easy read as well.

The Web That Has No Weaver, Ted J. Kaptchuk. A classic among the texts on Chinese medicine.

The Root of Chinese Qigong, Dr. Yang, Jwing-Ming. Dense, lacks no detail. A bit of a challenge.

Between Heaven and Earth, Harriet Beinfield. Also a bit more of a challenge but less so than
Dr. Yang, Jwing-Ming.

The Yellow Emperor’s Classic of Medicine, Maoshing Ni, Ph.D. This is the all-time classic.

 

Books on the Energetics of Food:

• Recipes for Self-Healing, by Daverick Leggett. Not only a smart intro into the concepts of TCM, it also gets into the energetics of food and has a bunch of tasty recipes that put it all into action. Others in no particular order are:

The Healing Cuisine of China: 300 Recipes for Vibrant Health and Longevity, Zhuo Zhao. Another cook book, and then some. This text has a nice intro into the concepts of Chinese medicine and even offers a Qigong at the end.
